It’s Time to Say Goodbye
Well, it’s time to write what will probably be my last article.
In this world, everything has a beginning and everything has an end. I am very grateful to this platform for the experience I have gained, for the interesting encounters I have made, and overall, I have had fun creating articles here.
Yet, it is time to end.
There are several reasons for that, but I want to focus on a positive reason: I decided to switch to a Russian-language platform called Zen.
Firstly, I remember that my articles in the distant past in Russian had a much better response.
Secondly, I will now write mainly about Thailand and Belarus, which is also much more interesting for the Russian-speaking audience.
Maybe I just speak Russian better, or maybe I resonate with Russian speakers more, or maybe something else … whatever the case may be, I realize that my experience on Medium has exhausted itself.
And besides, if I’m read, it’s mostly by other bloggers, either because of politeness or because of the principle: I read you — read me too.
In my humble opinion, it’s better to have a few real subscribers than a few hundred who mostly subscribed for me to subscribe to them. To me, this seems pointless.
Of course, I realize that starting from scratch is not fun and perhaps the subject of Thailand is not as interesting as before, but I will try. After all, even from not the richest Belarus, about 1200 people fly to Thailand every month, while tourists from Russia number in the tens of thousands.
I’ll emphasize again, I’ve learned a lot here. It’s been a very valuable experience, and I’m very grateful for everything.
Soon my subscriptions will end, soon my e-publishers will fade into oblivion, but something new will emerge in my life.
It’s just time to turn the page.
